Tools used during post production

I used 'Final Cut Pro' to edit my opening sequence, the following tools helped me edit allowing me to create an effective, authentic opening sequence from the horror genre.

Blade tool
This is used to cut-up and different clips to position them in the correct form in order to make every clip follow the next smoothly.

LUT filters

LUT filters are applied to all the clips to emulate a cinematic visual effect which enhances the colouring of the footage, increasing the contrast. Here is an example:

Widescreen effect

A widescreen effect changes the proportions of the entire film, this emulates the same proportion big blockbuster Hollywood films are produced in, again, adding an additional layer of cinematography.

Vignette mask

This adds a minimal shadow to the corners of the shot, since wanting to try to gain a first-person perspective of the creature slithering on the floor, emphasising a focus on the protagonist sitting in the centre of the shot.

Distorted image mask
This will again be applied to the first person perspective of the creature, therefore in order to emphasise the distinction between the creature's perspective and the other shots, I will apply a distorted mask to the shot, replicating an animal's vision.
