A detailed storyline
I have finally completed planning the storyline of my horror opening scene. The narrative of my opening scene will be as follow; I have broken the storyline into three segments symbolising the three different locations the opening scene will be filmed in:
Location 1: Office
The scene will begin inside an in-home office, the protagonist will be hard at work which would've lasted the day, this will help gather momentum, slowly building towards the final scene. Towards the end of the office scene, there will be a figure that quickly brushes past the camera. This will create a sense enigma, all building up toward the climax, the creatures attack in the final scene.
Location 2: Kitchen
The second scene will be after the protagonist has finished his long day's work, he will want to kick back, going to the kitchen for a drink. Comprised of low angle, cantered, shots will add a mysterious effect. Once again, there will be a dark figure that rapidly lurks past the camera. The eerie silence, again contributes to the unsettling feeling that the protagonist is not alone, rather being stalked and watched by something unknown. This is unnerving for the viewer.
Location 3: Living room
The character will finally move from the kitchen into the living room, still entirely unaware there is a predator present. The protagonist will sit in an isolated setting in a dim lit chair, to read a book. This is when the creature present will slowly sneak up to inevitably pounce and kill him abruptly, ending the scene. I am attempting to create a disconcerting ambiance in the room, mainly involved with the lighting, all coming from a single lamp which will shine on the side of the protagonist's face.
